Knightsbridge is an elegant collection of 16 stunning, executive, family homes set within the prestigious Clements Park development. Once home to a former hospital, much of the original landscaping has been preserved placing this new community amidst acres of beautiful parkland and woodland.

Warley, or ‘Wareleia’ as it was once named, was first recorded in the Doomsday Book of 1086 when the local population was 38. At this time Warley covered an area of some 21 miles, an area which now includes Warley, Little Warley and Great Warley. The Manor of Warley and the village of the same name were then owned by the Abbess of Barking. At the heart of the village was Warley Franks, which was once the old manor house.

Over the next four hundred years the village was gradually established on higher ground where the modern village can now be found. Warley parish records date from 1538 and provide an insight into village life of the time.

A house in the village named ‘Wallets’ dating from the 15th century acquired its name from the wealthy pilgrims travelling south to Canterbury. Wallets was used as a safe house for their monies before crossing the Thames marshes where bandits waited for their victims.

‘Warley Place’, an 18th century house, was home of the famous horticulturist Miss Ellen Willmot. Although the house was demolished in 1939, the gardens are now a conservation area. The original church in Great Warley was sited at the end of Church Lane.

The church started to fall into disrepair when the village moved to higher ground. In 1892 the rector Bailey built a wooden church in the grounds of his home ‘Fairsteads’. Warley is by tradition a farming community. There is an active conservation society which has done a great deal over the years to preserve the rural environment and village character.

Clements Park is situated within beautiful mature parkland which once formed part of the prestigious Brentwood Hall Estate. A wide variety of flora and fauna can be enjoyed while walking around the grounds. Brentwood offers an excellent variety of leisure activities and entertainment. The town centre boasts good restaurants, wine bars and excellent shopping facilities.
